Respiratory Care

CPAP

CPAP, which stands for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure, is a treatment for sleep apnea, a condition where the airway repeatedly closes during sleep. CPAP machines deliver a continuous stream of pressurized air through a mask, keeping the airway open and preventing pauses in breathing. Boreasa's C68SS1, quietest blower in the Industry, has become a standard all others are measured against.

Blower Requirements

  • Quietest blower in the Industry for users comfort at night.
  • Low profile for compact design and ultra portable 'travel' CPAPs.
Neonatal

Neonatal ventilation refers to the use of mechanical devices to support the breathing of newborn infants, especially those experiencing respiratory distress or failure. It's a critical intervention in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs), aiming to ensure adequate oxygenation and ventilation while minimizing potential lung injury.
Boreasa's highly dynamic and controllable blowers ensure the proper therapy is delivered without risk of lung damage.

Blower Requirements

  • Highly dynamic blowers enable rapid delivery of ventilation, up to 200 bpm.
  • Low inertia to ensure the neonatal ventilator is high controllable.
  • High reliability to operate in critical setting such as NICUs.
  • O2 resistance to enable mixing and delivery of oxygen.
  • Compact for lower profile ventilator design.
ICU

In an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), ventilation refers to the process of supporting or replacing a patient's breathing, typically using a mechanical ventilator, when they are unable to breathe adequately on their own. This can be due to various reasons such as respiratory failure, compromised lung function, or inability to protect their airway. Mechanical ventilation ensures adequate oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange in the body.
Boreasa's highest performance blowers are used across ICUs globally to support patients in critical conditions, for as long as required.

Blower Requirements

  • Highly dynamic blowers enable high bpm ventilation.
  • Low inertia to ensure the ventilator is high controllable in most extreme needs.
  • High reliability to operate in critical setting such as ICUs for weeks on hand.
  • O2 resistance to enable mixing and delivery of oxygen.
Transport

Transport ventilators are portable, mechanical devices used to support breathing during patient transport, particularly in emergency or critical care situations. They provide respiratory support when patients cannot breathe adequately on their own, ensuring they receive the necessary oxygen and ventilation while being moved.
Boreasa breadth of blowers enable varied and rugged design of transport ventilator. Powerful and efficient they enable treatment of patients when battery is the only source of power, even at high altitude during Heli transport.

Blower Requirements

  • Powerful to deliver the required performance across the altitude range.
  • Reliable to deliver therapy in remote setting.
  • Efficient to operate on battery power for hours.
  • O2 resistant to enable mixing and delivery of oxygen.
Cough Assist Devices

When patient airway muscles become weak, it can be hard or even impossible to cough. Secretions pool in the airways, respiratory infections develop, and breathing becomes strained. At that point, healthcare providers can turn to mechanical assist cough machines, devices that simulate a cough.
Boreasa high power blower can generate high negative pressure required for a brisk and effective suction of secretions to clear airways.

Blower Requirements

  • Powerful to generate the necessary negative pressure to extract the deepest secretions.
  • Highly dynamic blowers can deliver a brisk vacuum.
  • Compact to fit in the slimmest designs.
